Truncator® Multi log sawhorse – Award winning

The Truncator log sawhorse was developed with three aims in mind: easier, faster and safer log cutting!

Multiple logs can be cut at the same time and the patented tipping cups mean you don’t have to pick up the logs from the floor – you can tip them straight into your container, such as a wheelbarrow, log bags, trailer or tractor bucket.  This innovative new log sawhorse saves time, saves effort, is kinder on your back and safer.

How does it work?

  1. Place your lengths of timber into the cups on the log sawhorse.
  2. Secure one end of the timber with the quick-release securing cord.
  3. Cut down between the cups with your chainsaw, producing multiple logs per cut.
  4. The cut logs are held in the cups.
  5. Release the securing cord and tip each cup of logs straight into your container.

Frequently asked questions about using the Truncator sawhorse

Basically any timber that you can pick up. The log cups are flexible in a way that allows them
to  bend to the shape of the wood.
Fill with one or more wood length and secure with bungee strap.
The bungee will secure a 450 diameter log, especially safe when cutting short or bad shaped ends.
What Size log can you cut

As you can see If you can lift it you can cut it!!

No- You set the trestle at the correct height for you, and as there is also 80 mm “overcut” space between the bottom of the log-cup and the beam.
There will be “wear ” on the wood beam. When the beam becomes worn you replace the beam or fix a new one under which gives greater “overcut”.

This is a 3 year 3 fold. You can see the small cuts on the edges. It has a few more years yet.

Small volume log cutters the 3 Fold . This sawhorse 900mm beam is similar in size to majority of traditional X + cantilever etc.sawhorses on the market. When loading with long wood, obviously the end cut logs fall into a barrow or on the ground. Can buy more cups later to extend.
Medium volume the 4/5 Fold.  This sawhorse 1200mm beam, longer lengths of wood + more cut logs retained for stacking/tipping.
Fold Truncators store in a small space either by spinning the legs round or removing the T foot [2 pins] store preferable inside but outside is fine. They live outside from Australia to North Norway.
Large volume/ light industrial [farmers/ tree workers/ estates] 6/7 Pro Truncator 1800mm beam , fixed foot, needs more room to store.

Truncators will allow you to cut logs 3 times or more  as quickly- safely, with one third the fuel and no  bad back.

No the lengths of timber are held by the bungee strap and as importantly the cutting  face side of the log cup leans away from you.
This means even a loose piece of wood can’t “climb out” and create chainsaw kick back. Multiple lengths of  timber when cut “rattle” down and the bungee keeps tension on to the last cut.

The wood can’t “jump out due to the design of the cups

They can be spaced to make accurate 210 to 320mm long logs when cutting between two log cups.
If you space to cut between every other one or pairs you can make accurate 420 to 640mm  long logs.
For 160mm mini logs the cups can be cut down.Email for details.

You can cut any shape wood, even if it’s bent or twisted – if it fits in the cups you can cut it! It’s a great way to turn awkward pieces of wood into perfect logs.

The cups are manufactured from recycled car battery plastic and are designed to flex to accommodate large logs.  During the development process we stress-tested a single cup with a 16” diameter, 120 kilo weight with no breakages.

With other sawhorses you have to repeatedly bend down to pick up the cut logs from the floor, but with a Truncator sawhorse you’ll never need to do this again – you can just tip them straight into your container.
